A few words about our
Research

environmental communication and technology
Digital communication
New technologies such as virtual reality, mobile apps, and social media provide unprecedent opportunities to stimulate pro-environmental behaviors. We investigate how to leverage digital tools for a more sustainable society, see, for example, our ECoVR project.

Meso level
Public discourses
Societal changes require changing discourses. This is why we study how diverging viewpoints are represented in (social) media discourses and which factors may trigger changes toward a broader acceptance of solutions and responsibilities.

behavior change
Environmental behavior change
Since environmental behavior is caused by human behavior, it is vital to stimulate pro-environmental behavior with behavior change techniques such as environmental communication.

Misinformation
Information complexity
Environmental challenges are exacerbated by complex information landscapes. We investigate how misinformation circulates, complicating public understanding of environmental issues, to identify innovative strategies that enhance effective communication and promote informed, environmental decision-making. See, for example, our Adolescents susceptibility to Misinformation project.
